About Philippe Stack

Philippe's career began in 1970 when he designed the interiors of two night clubs in paris. His designs in paris caught the attention of some important people, helping him land a job refurnishing the apartments at Elysee palace in paris. Along with interior design, Stark also started creating lamps, chairs, boats, motorbikes, kitchen utensils and etc. As the years went on Stark became known as some what of a design celebrity. Philippe drew most of his inspirations from old designs, by taking the designs of the past and transforming them into modern creations
Despite Starcks fame, he never forgets what is truly important, his vision. His vision is that the goal of creation should be to make life better for the largest number of people possible. Starck is very invested in environmental projects. He tries to center all his designs to make them affordable and eco friendly. He wants to design a hydrogen powered car, moped and affordable priced windmill. Speaking of going green, recently stark has developed a counter stool and bar stool using a material made from industrial waste.
Philippe has a lot to say about the world today and how the products are always changing. He argues that the people should be buying products that will last for generations rather than following passing trends. He believes that we the people spend so much time and money on products that don’t last when we could be spending money on timeless products. What is a timeless product? To Philippe it means a good ecological and successfully made design. He sees this as a new way of thinking about design, creating products that will last a lifetime not just until people get tired of their look. Phippe truly is a jack of all trades from inventor to creator to architect to designer, he really does it all.

This design is so amazing, I wish I had thought of it. The fact that it makes you look at it in two different ways is amazing, its so simple yet affective.
