Wim Crouwel
Crouwel was born in the Netherlands in 1928. He is a graphic designer, type designer, and typographer. He was also a painter and focused a lot on expressionism. He was fascinated by the rational aspect in Bauhaus typography.He got a lot of inspiration from Bauhaus but was fascinated by the ideas of mass production. He designed a lot of poster for museums and also designed lots of catalogs. His posters became very famous and memorable. He was very fond of the modern typeface Helvetica and used a lot of san-serif faces in his work. He later started a design studio with friends names total design. In 1967 he designed several font sets, the best known one is called the New Alphabet.
